Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx
As the weather gets colder, I want to thank all those students who are dressing appropriately. Temperature permitting, we are still encouraging students to go outside at lunch and almost all of them need to walk some distance to the school, either from the bus stop or their house. If families are in need of warm clothes, please let us know and we can support you in this.
Students and families interested in trying out for our volleyball teams, practices will start up immediately after the break. Coaches will be getting together over the next few weeks and creating a practice schedule that we will share with families.
Good luck to our band who will be welcoming our feeder schools at Vanier on Wednesday for a concert.
Mme. Robinet and M. Perkins took their classes to Word Fest to listen to Ms. Judy Wilson-Raybould, Canada’s previous Minister of Justice, speak at Calgary Public Library. I am pleased to hear numerous Vanier students asked questions and engaged with her in discussion. The classes should be proud of themselves for setting an example for others attending and representing Vanier well.
This week all of the grade 8 classes will be out at Journey 2050. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who are accompanying this trip to make it possible.
Bonne fin de semaine,
Mr. Chad Edmonds – Principal Georges P Vanier School
