Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx,
I wanted to start by sending my thanks to our School Council. This group does so much to support our students over the year, and much of it goes unnoticed. This week, they worked with the parent council of Buchanan to bring students and parents The White Hatter digital literacy presentation. I hope that those parents/guardians who watched the evening presentation found it helpful. This helped us speak with the students about digital literacy and is part of our digital technology plan.
Our grade 9s wrote multiple PATs this week and have three more next week. Our grade 6 students will join them in PAT writing next week with their Social Science and Science exams.
Today we welcomed students from Mount View and Buchanan schools for their Sports Day. This was put on and organized with help from our grade 8 & 9 Leadership students. It was great for our incoming students to get a chance to start getting to know their future staff and students. It also gives us a chance to meet them and start that ever important task of relationship building. Thank you Mr. Cheng, Mme Anna, Mme Cosgrove and Ms. Ramos for their organization of this day, and all the work they have done with their students leading up to it.
Bonne fin de semaine,
Chad Edmonds – Principal Georges P Vanier School

IPP Update
Students with Individual Program Plans (IPP) should have now received their final IPP for the year. The update includes: how your child is doing in respect to their goals, transition notes and recommendations for how to best support your child in the coming school year. Please review the IPP and contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you have any questions. Signed IPPs should now be returned to the main office.
