Thursday marked the start of our French cultural celebrations. We had musical artists Tradba’dour perform for our grade 6 to 9 students. Please see the message below for other upcoming events.
Congratulations and good luck to our junior and senior boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams who start the playoffs on Monday. A special recognition goes out to our junior girls’ team who finished the season undefeated and enters the playoffs as the number 1 seed.
A reminder that we need to switch our clocks forward an hour Sunday morning.

French Month | Le mois de la francophonie
This week we will continue events for French month (le mois de la francophonie). Students enjoyed a performance from Trad'badour, a musical and cultural experience. Trad'badour gave a true Sugar Shack (Cabane à sucre) experience, playing the accordion and violin, singing songs and telling stories. Students sang and danced along as well as learned how to play musical spoons.

BELCANFRAN Exchange
Ron and Lise will be going to France in early April to do the matching of the Canadian and the French candidates who applied to do the Belcanfran exchange for 2025-2026 they would like to send the parents one last reminder that there is still time to apply. Many French candidates have applied to do the exchange with Alberta, and they are hoping to match as many of them as possible with our Canadian families. For more information, please see the attached letter
Grade 9 Fundraiser
The Grade 9 French Immersion students are raising money for their upcoming Eastern Canada Trip in May. We have partnered with Big Chief Meat Snacks which is a local Calgary owned and operated company. We will be accepting orders between March 3 - 17. Please order using the online platform.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Due to the ongoing job action, Parent-teacher conferences are currently scheduled to all be online. They are scheduled for: March 20 (4:30pm - 8:00pm) & March 21 (9:00am – 2:00pm).
- Booking opens March 10 at 9:00am.
- Booking closes March 19 at 11:59pm.

Fee Update
All Semester 2 Course Fees are uploaded to your accounts.
Please be sure to pay all fees as this directly impacts the supplies/field trips and activities your students are able to do/be a part of in their classes. We are seeing a large amount of course fees not being paid.
Please log in to your accounts to pay school fees. You can also send a cheque or cash to the school if this is easiest for you.
If you are unable to pay your fees, please go onto the CBE website to see the options available to you.

GEM Program
We are excited to participate in GEM this year. Girls Excel in Math (GEM) Calgary is a Saturday enrichment program for grades 6 - 8 students who identify as girls and want to have fun exploring some interesting mathematical topics with their teacher and schoolmates!
Students will have fun exploring mathematical topics that they would not normally see in the classroom.
Winter 2025 Dates: GEM will take place at the University of Calgary from 9 am – 12 pm on the following dates:
- Saturday, Mar. 8, 2025: Mathematical Card Tricks
- Saturday, Apr. 5, 2025: Taxicab Geometry
