Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx, 

I want to start this weekly update by letting our families know how happy I am with the turn-out to parent-teacher conferences. So many of our teachers were completely booked and let me know that this was the busiest they have been since they started at Vanier. They added the conversations were cordial, strength based and went very well. I do believe that students experience success when the relationship between schools and parents is strong, so thank you to all the families that took time out of their lives the last few days to meet. 

A few reminders as we go into the break: 

  • Badminton tryouts begin April 2 (the day we return to school). Please see below for the schedule 
  • We will be going “Away for all day” when we return. Teachers will be reminding students to leave their phones in their lockers during lunch hours when we return. It will then be an expectation. 

Finally, I hope all families have a safe and restful spring break. We look forward to seeing students back at school on the 2nd of April.

Semaine (MOIS!) de la Francophonie – French Week (MONTH!) 

We have been celebrating French Culture ALL month here at GPV. Thank you to the School Council for their support of funds so we could provide our community with fun activities this past week.

Camp Chief Hector for Grade 8 

We are looking forward to our grade 8 Outdoor School experience at the YMCA Camp Chief Hector from May 13 – May 16. If you are a parent of a grade 8 student and would like to volunteer for this trip, please let Mr. Brown or Mr. Cheng know. Our MANDATORY Parent Information Meeting is coming up on April 30 at 5:30. 

Lynx Spirit Wear 

We have had a few requests for Lynx Spirit Wear. We are looking into doing another order this Spring. Please stay tuned for more information! We have LIMITED stock we can sell right now! T-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles and socks can be purchased in the office with CASH. Come on down and see us!

Badminton Try-outs start April 2 

Get your rackets out and prepare to compete! Please see the schedule in upcoming sports dates for badminton try-outs to see when the Junior Team and Senior Teams will evaluate: 

The Junior coaches this year are Ms. Suelzle & Mr. Brown, and the Senior Team coaches are Mr. Park and Mme Cosgrove. Try-outs start the first day back after Spring Break.
