Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx,

I wanted to start out this week’s update with a message from Ms. Ramos about our band students who recently attended William Aberhart’s feeder concert:

On October 30, the Grade 9 Band went to William Aberhart High School to participate at their Feeder Concert. There were four other junior high school bands there and all the schools performed wonderfully! Vanier was represented very well throughout the evening. Students were kind and respectful to everyone involved from start to finish. I especially appreciated that students made the choice to stay off their phones during the whole event and actively engaged with each other instead. It warmed my heart to see everyone enjoying the present moment and each other's company. Go Band Go!”

I am so pleased when I hear about how well the Vanier students represent themselves and the school in activities like this.  Thanks as well to the volunteers who supported this trip and all the parents who continue to support our band program.

A big welcome to the 4 student teachers who have joined Vanier on their latest placement:

  • Mme. Emily with Mme. Gillespie
  • Mme. Duguay with Mme. Aristou
  • Mme. Lambrinoudis with Mme. Hedieh
  • Ms. Gonsalves with Mr. Brown

We also welcome back Mme. Jessica who will continue to work with Mme. Shah.

Bonne fin de semaine,

Mr. Chad Edmonds – Principal Georges P Vanier School
