Bonjour and hello families at George P. Vanier,

We hope you have all had a restful summer! Here is some information for you as we are getting closer to the start of school. We are so happy to welcome you back!

The school office will be open for phone/email inquiries at 10:30 on August 24 for parents and for student registration. Timetables will be given to students on their first day of classes, August 31.

All students will have their first day back on August 31 at 9:00 AM. Students will gather on the upper field on the South side of the school where staff will facilitate homeroom groupings. Signage will be posted listing homeroom numbers to support students. Homeroom teachers will be emailing families early next week introducing themselves and providing details on homeroom number.

Our school hours are the same for the 2023-24 school year. Mondays to Thursdays will run from 9:00 am until 3:38 pm. Every Friday it will run from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
We often are asked questions regarding school supplies for students.

• Grade 6 students receive materials from the school which are paid for with the school fees.
• Grades 7, 8 & 9 are not provided with consumable materials. A fee is not charged for materials such as pencils, binders and lined paper as the ISM Fee is no longer charged as it was in elementary school. A list of suggested materials will be sent home in the opening package on Thursday.

We are also hiring a Lunch Supervisor. Please let us know if you are interested.
